SYNERGISTIC ACTIVITY OF THE COMBINATIN: IN VITRO EVIDENCE To allow testing of each active alone and their combination, a carrier o/w cream was formulated and tested for in vitro for its effect on irritation reduction in pre-irritated tissue, using a modified HEN's EGG TEST CHORIOALLANTOIC MEMBRANE (HET-CAM)model. The effect of the combination, IBR-ProPhyDerm®, (2% IBR-Dormin all natural 0305 and 2% IBR-TCLC in Squalane 0702 in carrier) was compared to the effect of each active alone: Narcissus tazetta bulbs extract (2% IBR-Dormin all natural 0305 in carrier) phytoene and phytofluene extract (2% IBR-TCLC in Squalane 0702 in carrier) and against carrier as placebo. IBR-ProPhyDerm® exhibited the most pronounce, synergistically protective effect against induced irritation CLINICAL EVIDENCE The clinical trial was performed on 26 mild to moderate chronic eczema patients for 28 days. The study compared the effect of the investigated cream, IBR-ProPhyDerm®, to that of Hydrocortisone 1% cream. Clinical assessment points were every 7 days and showed astonishing results: total scoring and efficacy index of both treatments were identical, meaning IBR-ProPhyDerm¨, a steroids free formula based on the IBR-ProPhyDerm¨ combination of botanicals (represented here by 2% IBR-Dormin¨ organic 306 and 2% IBR-TCLC¨ in squalane 702) delivers relief equivalent to 1% Hydrocortisone.
Total scoring and efficacy index of both treatments after four weeks of use resulted in a 70% improvement in the appearance and sensation of such manifestations as erythema, redness, scaling as well as itching.
